  1. Hi all, I have done a search and have been unable to find the answer so here it goes:
I have a Mac G5 with a Superdrive. I have received both DVD - R (TDK) and DVD + R (Memorex) through trading that have played on my home DVD player and on the Mac. I tried to burn some copies (onto both + r and - r) and those copies will play on the Mac but not at home. the process I used was to copy the audio_ts and video_ts to the hard drive, insert a blank disc, drag the files to the disk, and burn. I am sitting on some DVD's that I need to send back, so any help you can send my way would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Although this is in the wrong forum, I will attempt to answer it. What program are you using to burn to the blank dvd+r? If you are using Toast 6.X you have to burn it as data with the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders in the compilation. Check the Mac Video Forum as I am almost certain this was discussed there.

You need to burn the DVD in UDF format and I'm not certain that the Finder burn does this with DVDs. You may need Toast. With it, the process gets even easier because you can use the Copy option to duplicate the DVD (assuming it isn't copy protected).

Send back? Hopefully you mean back to your dvd rack in your living room

Pretty sure its been explained, but
You have to make a UDF image of the files you want to burn, then burn that image using disc copy.

Pretty straight forward. DVDImager is an app that can handle that
