I would author the disc first, saving to a Disc Image first,
and then try opening that on the mac and playing with DVD Player,
as Baldrick suggested. If the Mounted Disc Image plays fine
in Apple's DVD Player, then burn that to disc. If not,
then you'll need to make adjustments.

You'll also need to post back specs on the avi if we are to help you further.
Open the avi in Quicktime Player, and perform a "cmd-i" and
post back the info provided in that window so we can determine
if it is a codec issue, size issue, etc that might be causing problems
with Toast encoding the file to DVD (Mpeg-2).

    pz,
what seems to be your issue with Toast, and is it Toast 10?
Toast 8 and 9 don't seem to have any issues for me,
other than yes it does take longer to encode with it than
    Visualhub....

Cruz240sx, follow terryj's advice and create the disc image first. Also, unless these are short movies it should take much more than an hour for Toast to do the conversion. And be sure to have the Perian codec installed (www.perian.org) or you may end up with video that has no audio.

It will help if you describe the AVI's specs.

there were times it wouldn't work and all i'd get is a generic error message, and after waiting several hours at times i tried a different approach...
