vcd to dvd?probs

hi
i am trying to rip a vcd to dvd,right so i no i have to rip the vcd with vcd gear,but it wont let me,i think cause it was burned with nero,its saying its a dat file,yet i can watch it as a film.i have even tried to extract the wav.cause i wanna put it on tmpgenc l8er and then tmpgence encoder to finalize.but just cannot extract the vcd.
any ideas out there

You use VCD Gear to convert the VCD DAT file back to a MPEG1 file (VCD Gear will do this, what error/problem are you having exactly?). Once you have the original MPEG1 file you can demux it, and re-encode the audio to 48khz. Then just author (m1v file and 48khz mp2/ac3 file).

i got it,i had it on wrong setting,aint it worth extracting wav?,i always extracted wav's as i heard tmpgenc some times have sync probs if you dont extract wav and encode wav and video seperate.
