  1. Ok this is very strang, for some reason whene i plug in my video camera to my firewire card also the same for my web camera, and I open up software to see the video my computer instantly restarts. For example when I turn on the video camera the windows movie make option pops up, I click ok, then computer restarts. Same in adobe premire, I select the type of video I want, boom, computer restarts. Also when I load the software to my web camara, it restarts. Any ideas? I have the newest video drivers, i think. Its a Gainward geforce 2 pro 64 meg ddr.

It could also be a heat problem. My PC used to restart whenever I had a heavy usage situation, like an AVI to MPG render. Download the motherboard monitor from the following website to see if you have an overheating problem. http://mbm.livewiredev.com/

    hi nutt318..

It could also be due to a bad RAM chip/module. I had one of those a while
back, and coudn't figure out why TMPG would crash under certain extremeties.

When I switch the chips, all was well.

So, you might want to play around w/ this .. or even re-seat your RAM chips

    Good luck,

  4. I have searched all over the internet on why this does it. I havent found anything that works. Different updates and patches but nothing. Even disableing my virtual ram. I hink he only thing that it could be is my video card. Anyone have any other ideas. Also took out my memory chips, still dint work. Could it be bad memory?

I had a (USB) MP3 player do that on 2K. It was the
usb drivers. Every time I'd plug it in - instant reset.
I thought it was a hardware problem at first.
You might try reinstall/upgrade the 1394 drivers
