If my Sony 500 is a 16X read, why does Smartripper and Decrypter only register only about 2.7M/sec? I tried to see if they had settings to change, but it doesn't look like they do.
A DVD9 takes about 50 minutes to rip, is that average?
Thanks

There's a bunch of stuff that could affect your ripping speed - in fact, I'm in the process of writing a Ripping FAQ, should be up tomorrow.
Anyway, make sure that DMA is enabled on your hard drive and DVD-ROM drive. Also, try to see if you can get an updated firmware for your DVD-ROM drive, as sometimes the manufactors limit the ripping speed.
Cheers,I only dream in black & white...

TRY THIS!
It might work it might notGo into your Device Manager, delete your Drive and the IDE Channel. Re-boot and let it install your drive. Then see if this makes it rip faster. I did do this with a normal DVD Drive and the speed increase was ace!
This was done on XPHave fun.
Keep going till you get it right!!! -
