  1. I have a family home movie on dvd-r. However one day it was not properly sitted in my DVD players tray and when the tray door closed it scratched the dvd-r towards the outer edges.

The dvd-r plays fine in my Pioneer DV333 and my Norcent DP300. I tried backing it up but when it gets to the outer edge I get over 300 errors and over 1000 retries. I have fast skip turned on and retry set to 9, using DVD Decrypter.

The dvd-r copies but when I play the backedup copy it freezes in both my DVD players and two of my computers DVD-Rom drives.

I tried two computers and different ripping programs (DVD Decrypter, Smart Ripper, DVD Shrink ver 2.3 & 3.0) but I'm having no luck....

I find it odd that it plays fine in my DVD players but I can not copy it ....

    Any suggestions....

  3. Try copying the disc to the hard drive with ISObuster and then burning a replacement from that.

Have you tried reading the disk using your burner?

  5. Yes I tried my Pioneer A05 first...still no luck....

I always thought that scratched disks were more of an issue for stand alone players ?????
