  1. Can anyone tell me if they have played DVD+RW successfully. I have just got a dvd burner and have made a backup dvd which works fine on one of my dvd players but not on the Dansai.

    Thanks

  2. I owned a Technika dvd player which was the same internals as the Dansai 852 (i bought it because i could not get a Dansai).

And it played DVD+RW discs that where recorded in my settop recorder
    without any problems.

So i would imagine the dansai will play em, as long as the dvd rom drive
    they use is the same.

If not you could change the Rom drive for one that reads all types of disc as its only a standard IDE Drive

  10. Code?

If that CompUSA is Optodisc and that Philips is CMC it could be a reason.

  14. I have just tried another dvd rip to a philips dvd+RW which doesn't work in the Dansai, but works perfectly in the Philips dvd player.

What DVD+ media have you used in the Dansai successfuly?

    Thanks

  15. My 852 has got very picky recently - it won't play some '-' discs that it played in the past (Traxdata, Bulkpaq green, and Infiniti) burned with VOB, Decrypter or Nero. Same batch discs burned lately in VOB with 'include UDF' unchecked seem to work.

All '+' I've tried are OK.

  16. The strange thing is I can play a Philips CD RW in the Dansai but not a Philips DVD+ RW.
