  1. Hello everyone,

    please I need HELP!

I have a IC7-G MAX II with onboard sound AC' 97, but as I'm dropping frames and the sound won't be really good, I got a new PCI SB Live 5.1!
But...in capping it sucks!!!!! Everything is worse than before. Tried with and without the SB drivers, wired ATI to sound card LINE-IN.
Too many dropped frames, horrible sound, sync problems....
Go back to the onboard sound....everything back to normal.
I use dual boot: WIN 2000 PRO and WINXP PRO SP1.
MMC 8.5 (tried with 8.1 is the same!!!) CATALYST 3.6 (tried with 3.7 and is the same sort of problems...)

    WHAT AM I DOING WRONG????

When you fitted the Soundblaster did you disable the onboard sound in BIOS?

Is the sound OK when you're not capturing or is it horrible all the time? If it is like it all the time, you need to sort that out first. If it is only when capturing then you may have a resource conflict. If the Soundblaster card is in the pci slot nearest your AIW that may well be the problem as the first pci slot shares resources with the AGP slot. Try moving it further away.

  5. Actually the card is in the 4th PCI slot. And, you right, playback is OK (i've tried some wav and mp3 files) , only capping is jerky, out of synch (due to many dropped frames), noise and so.
