vcd have jerky playback

ok i captued my videos to vcd mpeg files and burned them to vcd using nero, however when i play them back using my stand alone dvd player the audio and picture is jerky.

the same vcd plays back fine on my computer however if i convert them using tempec, then the dvd player will play them fine?
obviously i don't want to convert every video i capture can anyone help?

I don't get it - if you capture straight to VCD mpeg, why do use TMPGEnc?

vcd plays back fine on my computer

A computer will play back almost anything.
Try authoring with VCDEasy. Nero may be doing some nasty stuff to your mpegs.
