  1. I just started reading about DVD X Copy Xpress and It seems pretty simple to just rent a video from a video store and just burn it on a blank DVD with this program. I know that you have to say you agree to their terms and conditions and all that, but we know that most people just check it off anyway and go through with this. It seems like the video stores can catch people doing this and can get them in trouble for it. Am I wrong? sorry for such a newbie question, just curious

  2. yes what you suggest is against the law in most (all) countries, however how would the rental cos know what you do with a dvd?
    CAtch people? How exactly? 8)

The same way they've been catching those millions of people copying rental video tapes for the last 20 years of course.

I also must put in a friendly reminder that discussion of such things is not allowed on the board. No there is nothing stopping you but we don't do that around here.

I see nothing wrong with his question and, in fact, think it is very well worded.

You should read here if you haven't though:

The answer is, if someone where to do such a thing in the US, (thereby breaking the law), it is very unlikely they would be caught. A store could not tell what a person did with a DVD rental. However, I should say such things are not condoned at this site.
