  1. anyone explain to me what a VOB is?

And if when you Demux the video and audio when using a file which is a MPEG you use TMPGEnc (i'm sure there is another tool that does it but lets stick with this one) what happens if you have a Ddivx or xvid and you need to demux these.....?

    Many thanks......

  3. right thats cool,

That still leaves the question of what is a VOB?

There is a little problem with the virtualdub thingy....

I have two files which i had put together in Vitrtualdub. When i put them together first of all they played fine, i encoded them together to make one file.

But now when i re load the file it will not play...... neither will the two original files....... although they all play in windows media player?

    Whats the story there........?

i do have source audio selected...... and direct stream. If i change the settings it drops a warning on me about not having a decompressor or something?

    Many thanks..........

    VOB
All DVD movies are stored in on a DVD video disc in so-called VOB files. VOB files usually contain multiplexed Dolby Digital audio and MPEG-2 video. VOB files on a DVD are numbered as follows: vts_XX_y.vob where XX represents the title and Y the part of the title. There can be 99 titles and 10 parts, although vts_XX_0.vob does not contain any video, usually just menu or navigational information. You can find them on a DVD video disc in a subdirectory labelled VIDEO_TS (all upper case).

got that from the Glossary on the left
