    I have a sonydru-510a burnerand I have tried to burn two movie a 4 speed on shintaro -r 4 speed dvds each time the burns fails after 2 minutes I have no problem then burning the same movie a 2 speed I am running xp with 512k of ram and an xp2800. I can burn offf the same computer cds at 52 speed so I don't think the computer is too slow. would these Shintaro dvd-r not be up to scratch.

    Get some better media . I bet those discs you are using are not 4X certified .

    I tried a simulation at 4 speed using nero and it failed the reason was
    no seek complete. Does anyon know what that means?

    Could just be your Sony. Many, many people have problems burning cheaper DVD-R media at 4 speed with the Sony drives.

    You can flash a Sony drive with the Lite-On firm ware. This seems to have fixed the majority of the troubles with the Sony drives.
