What's the best tool for shrinking a 7.8gb DVD to 4.7Gb DVDR . Is it DVDxCopy Express? There's other tools but it would remove the startup menu. I want to preserve everything on the original DVD while putting on the DVDR.

Have you seen the new DVDxCopyExpress that just came out. It claims to be the best, and it looks like the best. But is it a hype???

However, having just switched to using DVDShrink 3.0 instead of DVD Xpress, I have to go with DVDShrink being the better program. There's way more options, more control, plus it does the same thing DVD Xpress does, only you can control what gets copied over and what doesn't.

I'd go with DVDShrink 3.0 beta5 myself.
It works great, easy to figure out, and it's free!
Just click open disk, it reads the disk, sets size and ready to go.
You can leave out extra langauges if you want, or do deep analisys.
You can do a movie only ripp too.
Lot's of choices you "can" do, or just use defaults and do a full backup.
On my stuff an 8 gig DVD looked great (just like the real disk) and I did not use deep analyse on that either.
Was a full disk backup, minus french, wide screen and fullscreen both!
Was my first rip I think for that one. I have done 2 3hr movies, full disk backups now and they turned out great also. Did NOT use deep analyse on those either.
Ripping I consider to be fast!
Deep analyse takes more time of course and since I can't tell the difference between the backup and the real DVD myself I have no reason to use it really. But it's there if you want it or need it!!
