New to authoring. I have a portable DVD player, will not play PAL discs.
Spent hours trying to convert -WITH CHAPTERS. It must be easy!! Rip using DVDShrink and then use DVD2AVI to be able to use TMPGEnc.

TMPGEnc is all that I have really used for authoring - it does actually what I want it do, but when I burn to DVD I do not have any chapters. This is a request of the family, and useful. I have literally spent hours trying to sort this.

Would be so grateful if anyone out there has ideas on authoring - finishing with PAL to NTSC and Chapters.

    Hopefully 8)

did you add the chapters when you authored?
does they work on your computer with a software dvd player?

Thankyou for getting back. I have DVD author also but have had limited success here. As I have the downloaded version I don't appear to have many instructions. Do I need to use DVD author first, if so I can not see how to add chapters as I still prefer to use DVD shrink I think?

If this is the case would I then have to use TMPGENc (2.5) to convert from PAL to NTSC. I don't think that is right.

    Thankyou

    Help appreciated

If you are using TMPGEnc to re-encode the files to pal all the relavent chapter info will be lost. But you dont mention what you use to author the MPEG file TMPGEnc gives you...Authoring with SpruceUP or DVDIt you can make your own chapters,if your using DVD Maestro you can import chapters via Chapter XTractor..Are you backing up your original movies.Use DVD Decryptor to rip the ALL the files then use DVD2One or DVd Shrink to make it under 4gig and just burn with all the chapters and menus,everything...
