Hi all,
I am thinking of getting a drive but want to keep mfg support if possible(so ill avoid hacked firmware). This brings my list to the pioneer oem or nec bulk. Any actually bought a bulk nec drive and tried to upgrade their firmware. Did it work? Pioneer seems a sure bet but it is slightly more money. Thoughts? Suggestions?

From what I have read:
- NEC ND1300A Dual DVD±R/W $126 <- NEC firmware supports retail, bulk drives but NOT OEM

- Pioneer A06D DualDVD±R/W $158 <- Pioneer firmware supports OEM drives

Sony DWU10A Dual DVD±R/W $153 <- Sony firmware does not support OEM drives
