  1. hi,im new to all this so i hope someone can help.im trying to put divx on to dvd but when im burning it in nero it starts transcodeing it and it take up all my drive space after a while and then stops burning when im too low on space.butthe space on my drive is 28.1G.it uses it all!surely this cant be right?

  2. yes, actually it is. divx is a highly compressed format and depending on the source, to make it dvd resolution, nero may do all kinds of things to it, 1 of which is increase file size (actually any *cough* encoder will do the same thing).

    Don't use nero to encode your video.

    It looks like you have missed a number of guides on this site that walk you through converting avi's and SVCD's to DVD's.

    what you can do is download dvd2svcd and use the avi to DVD template. You will need to purchase either TMPGENC, CCE, or procorder for the encoding part as that is not included. I would really recommend that you download the dvd2svcd guides and they will walk you through the process.

    On the svcd to dvd, instead of reencoding the svcd to be compliant enough to play on a dvdr in your dvd player, download (drum roll) svcd2dvd from chrissyboy (guides also available on this site) to turn your svcd's into sorta dvd's. Check to make sure your player can play them.

    but ive just had a look at the guides.
    they seem to be telling me how to convert the dvd to avi or svcd.
    i need to convert them to dvd.
    which is the best guide to look at?
    plus,apart from the beggining of the set up of svcd2dvd i cant find the templates for avi to dvd?
