What do you think the coolest game is for any platform: PC, XBOX, GC, PS2, etc.?

Anyone like Unreal Tournament 2003 or other 1st person shooters?

    I want to know...really!

I like UT 2003, although it hasn't captured my attention the way the first Unreal Tournament did... I was a nut for UT. Liked Doom and Doom II, but not to excess.

beyond that, most of the pc games I play are emulator versions of classic arcade games like Qix, Bombjack, Roc 'n' Rope, Black Tiger, Tron, etc... mostly games from the early to mid 80's.

And Tekken 1-3, either as arcade or for the Playstation... man, when Tekken 2 came out for the PS, I rented a console at one place, rented the game at another joint across town, and a buddy of mine and I played it for 10 hours straight. I didn't get full feeling back in my thumb for 3 days, literally...

Believe me, I have pulled some of those nights years ago when I still had a N64. I haven't really done it with my xbox although GTA: Vice City on my PC has kept me up all hours of the night.

    Sorry, Gmatov...hope I didn't piss you off.

Halo is a nice one for sure, and the PC version is coming very soon. I'm more of an RPG type person so I play alot of them on my PS2 when I have the time, Final Fantasy and the like.

Oh yeah and that new rockets game at popcap.com is fun also!

All I can say is .

And, since I'm not a gamer, it's only by accident I found this.

    Carry on, it's cool.

    Cheers,

  9. Well, I judge the greatness of a video game by how long after its realease you are still willing to play it and by the amount of time you have actually played. Under those circumstances my greatest games are...

    Starcraft for PC
    Solarjetman for NES
    Areobiz for SNES
    Alpha Centauri for PC
    Spy Hunter for NES

My favorite "One Shot Wonders" (great for the short term) are...

    GTA:Vice City for PC
    Torment for PC
    Half-life for PC
    F-Zero for SNES
    Giants:Citizen Kabuto for PC

Oh yeah add the original populous into that list. I played and played that thing. And if there was a version for XP I'd play it still. Sadly I do not like any of the ones that came after the first.

On the same note Military Maddness for TurboGrapics 16 was just awsome, if you want play of that type then get a GBA and get Advance Wars 1 and 2, same style of play very fun stuff. BTW its a Turn based warfare game thats really fun.

Blitz. Perfect to a group of guys getting together and just having fun.

I'd also have to point out that when the first Mortal Kombat came out, I was blown away. The graphics were perfect, the gore was unheard of, the fighting was dead on, the special moves were awesome, the fatalities were devilishly bloody. I was addicted.

I actually have an unopened copy of Mortal Kombat 3 for DOS. I was given it as a present but never opened it. My computer was not able to run it and by the time I got a new computer, the game was old news.

Tetris is just one of those games where the gameplay just never gets old. That's what the original games were all about...not graphics but rather gameplay.

I think it does get old, but once you are done with it you can go back to it a year later and its all of a sudden awesome again.

Hey Vitualis, what do you think about Final Fantasy XI coming to PC this fall...

I haven't been much of a final fantasy finatic but I just might get it for my PC since I don't think it's going to end up on XBOX anytime soon.

And I used to love Simcity 2000, had it for my old Mac and loved it. I have Simcity 4 now but I have to say that I don't think they did as good a job with the load times...their syst. req. were a pentium 700mhz with 128MB of RAM....GIVE ME A BREAK! You need a really fast system to play it....believe me.

now, did you like Tekken? it seemed that in my crowd, you were either a MK guy or a Tekken guy. I couldn't stand the choppy movement of MK, I liked the models but I liked the gameplay and motion in Tekken much better...

.... and I knew that the Tekken characters would eventually get smoother and more realistic, but I didn't know if MK would develop smoother gameplay...

  27. I am not really into games but the one that got me hooked the most was Driver on the playstation. Kept me going for hours, I never completed the very last mission, I think it was virtually impossible. . I remember reading in a playstation magazine that none of the hard core gamers there could complete it either so I didn't feel too bad.

  28. I am on a project at Electronic Arts and they make some pretty cool games. I think the most addictive is 'The Sims Online'. But there are other too here:

    a) FIFA 2003
    b) Simcity 4
    c) The Lord of the Rings - both the movie titles
    d) Harry Potter - both the movie titles
    and many more...

Actually I can't decide which is the best one.

Does this count? Games I love to watch being played - Deus Ex, Morrowind (and Bloodmoon), Driver, Kingdom Hearts, Fifa 2003.

Game I used to absolutely love - Phantasy Star Online!

Only games I can actually play? :c* EyeToy :cD
