I've been busy replaying all the old megadrive sonic games (or genesis games for your freaky americans!) on the gamecube. i was a bit disappointed to not get sonic CD thrown in, and even more disappointed that there were no master system versions!
I love UT, play online quite a bit. Can't beat the feeling when you hear "Headshot!"
Same with UT2003! "double kill!" "Multi kill!!" "Mega Kill!" "ULTRA KILL!" "HOLY SHIT!!!" gotta love that
same when you get called a flak monkey! or when you get "God like!" "Wicked sick!!"
Been playing resident evil again too. that's good fun. I'll get round to playing 2+3 and biohazard soon.
As for old classics, no-one has mentioned golden-eye! i'm most suprised! Many an evening have been whiled away on multi player golden-eye.
Oh, or getting older, duck hunt for the NES. When i broke my leg (spiral fracture - skating accident.) and spent 4 months in plaster i got really good at duckhunt. in fact, if anyone has it, see if you can beat my personal record of 1000001 points! (you can't, the counter rolls back round to 0 when you get 999,999 points)

Visual C++, I have spent uncounted years of my life playing with it
You have to think of it as a game, or else you would blow your brains out.Just what is this reality thing anyway? -
YES! I'm sooo glad someone mentioned Goldeneye. That was by far one of the best 007 games of all time! I spent many nights staying up into all hours of the morning just playing multiplayer with friends...it never got old.
Love that game! -
Best games were the Final Fantasy series,
One of the best fun 2 player games is "War of the Monsters" for PS2. A friend and I played the demo for 3 hours straight before we bought the full version when it came out.
SOCOM Navy Seals is also at the top of my list.
Also having a lot of fun with "Zone of the Enders 2"
I am a big fighting game fan and the latest Virtual Fighter: Evolution is great, but I am also looking forward to "Soul Caliber" coming out tomorrow. -
I love so many games it's hard to settle on just a few. I always dust off some older ones (older as in PS2) and give them a run. Usually my favorite game is the one I just bought. Right now it's Freelancer. Soon it'll be True Crime or the latest BF1942 expansion.
My longtime fav is the old Marathon trilogy. I also tend to mess with Vice City quite often as well. Battlefield and the latest Rainbow Six are my repeat shooters. -
I liked Rainbow Six on my old N64 but I haven't played any recent versions though.

tecmo superbowl on the NES..
button mashing excitement that never got old..
its good emulated.. but its harder to do the zig-zag run and break tackles in a blinding fury of mashed buttons.. -

I'll get FF10 once the PS2 can be bought for cheap as well...
As for the PC, personally, I think that FF is the sort of game that is best played on a console, in front of a big screen TV and good sound system -- and most importantly, in a comfy sofy as you'll be there for hours.

I really enjoy the Commandos series(Eidos).
What really got me into was gaming was getting a Tandy computer from Radio Shack and coding out Lunar lander in basic, then I spent countless hours trying to land the craft, rarely being sucessful, either running out of fuel or crashing. I still like that game.
Counter Strike
Half Life
MS Flight Sim
Theme Hospital
Metersteiner Beer Manager
Grand Theft Auto
GTA 3 Vice City
Command and Conquer Generals
Civ 3 Play the world
DiabloJust shut up and listen dumbass -

i don't know if its because i'm getting a little older or what. but i can't seem to get into these new games like gta3. i'm with housepig, tekken 2 has to be one of my favorites. i remember when i first got it. it took me a long time to get all the hidden characters later to find out that i didn't save the game.
my other favorites have to be super mario world and super mario all stars. my snes don't work anymore so thank god for emulators.
His name was MackemX
What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend? -
ooh, and no one has mentioned worms yet!
I had a mate with a 100% unbeaten record on that game. i found out -why- when i kicked his arse one day, and watched him leap across the room close to the speed of light, in order to wrench the memory card from his playstation before it finished saving.......
What a wanker. -
I once did a similar thing on a golf game (cant remember which) to get a score of 20 under par (only to see if I could
)
Each time I got a birdie or eagle I would save the game, then play the next hole, If I did not birdie it I would return to the saved game and play it again until I did. I know its cheating but it was very satisfying to see a score of 20 under par after 1 round of golf.Particularly as I play for real.

Super Mario 64 (still stands up against games of today).
Loads of others im not going to list.
#1 Way too many to list.
#2 I cant remember them all right now.
#3 it will take all day. -

I have decided this weekend, as soon as I can find a local friend with an old jumpered SB16 ISA I'm making a DOS/Win 3.1 box. Half Priced Books has an excellent selections of old games. I may even dig out my Voodoo 2 to play GL quake with.

Almost an impossible question but - Dungeon Master for the Atari ST !
Played it solid for months before finally completing it. Great, great game.

You know, no one has talked about the actual game physics yet. I mean, when I play a game either on my XBOX or PC, I can enjoy the game if the gameplay is good but if the graphics and sound aren't there sometimes, I just don't get pulled in as much as I would like. I believe music and sound effects as well as graphics and gameplay are what make me believe I am in another world in UT, Vice City, or even 007 Nightfire for that matter. Same goes with Halo, I can play that game and get totally pulled in...heart rate goes up and I have actually been scared by certain games...I think that's just great...don't you?
