  1. i need help fast
i want to convert avi to svcd
well i have an avi file with 14.985 fps which i want to encode with cce but since cce does not accept 14 fps i used virtual dub to change the framerate to 29.970 fps but instead the movie became speedy

I know u can convert in tmpgenc but the quality is not that good

please tell me how do i change my framerate to 29.970 without any speeding & encode it in cce.

    Ok ... i'll bite.

Since nothing is impossible, i would say you have 3 options : Slim , None and F#(k All of trying to achive what you are attempting.

You need to duplicate every frame, because your movie
is exactly half of the NTSC rate.

It will look bad no matter what you do

TMPGenc is one of the best. Who told you it wasn't
It will do what you want.

    Hi mIRC,

Obviously, you have divX (or one of it's siblings) ..

    What I would do, is:

    * Import your .avi source file in vdub
    * change fps to 29.970, and
    * then save as a .vdr (can change to .avi if needed)
    * now, proceed to feed this into CCE, making sure you have 29.970

The above will basically duplicate every frame.

    But to note...
For what you are doing, CCE or TMPG would do, and there would be no
which is better.. unless you are new to video processing and you are not
familiar w/ TMPG's settings and advantages. My gut feeling is that you are
one of those who are using multi-pass routines and you haven't realized
that TMPG would progably do just as good, plus it has additional filters too.
But, you probably heard to CCE is faster, and you obtained a copy, and
am carefree away w/ your 14.985fps sources files ..well, that's ok.

Do check out the above step though, it's one way of approaching your goal

    Enjoy the FORUMS :P
