    Hi,
I can't find a tutorial or otherwise figure out how to convert this file so that I can burn it on SVCD to watch on my TV.

Here are the details of the file:

    ViDEO : DiVX
    AUDiO : 448 AC3 5.1
    ASPECT RATiO : 2.35:1
    RESOLUTiON : 608x256

I would appreciate any and all help,
    Cheers

  2. open the file with virtualdub, do File -> Save Wav
then, rename the .wav to .AC3 and use besweetgui to convert to something that'll work in your encoder (like .mp2, .mp3, .wav)

then, you can either remux the audio and video, or, if you're using tmpgenc, just point it to the video, and then, the new audio, and encode.

if you have problems with the audio... i'd download CDex from sourceforge.net there's an option to browse to a folder, and strip RIFF-WAV headers.
    poop.

Here's a basic conversion guide using TMPGEnc.

AC3 sound needs to be converted to wav first and the wav file is used as the audio source. I like to use Goldwave for that, here's a guide.

    Good luck!

  5. or try an all in one program if (when) you get a audio/video sync issue. Try dvd2svcd. There is a guide for it as well and comes with the svcd template. You'll need to change the inpout from dvd to avi and also you may need to download xvid codec and divx codec pack (and of course purchase and encoder like tempgenc or cce.
