  1. Does anyone know which authoring program can import VOBs (and AC3, if it has to be imported separate)?

What I have is different vobs that are multiple titles, each title with their own chapters, and I don't need or want to convert and lose quality. And I want a DVD that'll use the chapter buttons to advance chapters, and title button or menu to switch between titles.

Best method I've read about so far is just to make the 2nd title the chapter after the last chapter of the 1st title. But then the titles would have to be in sequence, and this method doesn't use menus so I'd have to chapter through just to get to the next title.

    I'm hoping there's something better.

  2. try tmpgenc dvd author.

Its the easiest I have used & can import vob files. the latest vers also has more menu options.

  3. That was my first guess, but I had trouble importing audio. Wouldn't accept vob or ac3 audio files. Is there some option somewhere, or do I have to use a separtae program to convert the ac3 first?

I'm having great luck with ULEAD's MediaStudio Pro 7.0, which includes an AC-3 enabled version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2...

...this "LE" version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 can import/edit AC-3 MPEGs.

  6. DVD Lab also accepts VOB files. Remember that the VOB file should already have multiplex video and audio (sometimes subs).
