    I've been converting some xvid and other avi movies to dvd with dvdsp 2 and the apple mpeg 2 plug.
    Works good but I'm wondering if one codec might be better than the other for my use.

    I currently have 3ivx installed.
    Could DivX Pro be a better choice or does it even matter?

    I personally prefer 3ivx. I did a test a while back and thought that 3ivx looked better in comparison to divx.
