  1. My new Dell Inspiron laptop came with a DVD+R/RW burner. Ive been using it to backup some dvds and some videos that i made. I use nero 6 to burn and the DVD is made successfully. If i play the dvd on my laptop, it works perfectly, but if i take it to one of my DVD players in my house, i get an error saying 'Disc Error'

I have called Dell, they dont think there is a problem because i can watch it on my laptop. I spoke with other techs from Bestbuy and online and some think its the drivers in the burner, some think its Nero, and some think its the way im burning them.

Does anyone have any idea whats going on here?

    Thanks
    Jonathan

  2. Have you checked whether your standalone player supports DVD+R? There's a possibility, especially if it's an older player, that it doesn't support that format.

  3. i have tried to check if it does, but i could not find any information in the users manuals. Could this be the case for both of the dvd players i have tried? Seems a little odd, but i will double check.

If this is the case, then what percentage of the players on the market would actually accept DVD+R discs?

What do you guys burn at?

  4. Nevermind, i just checked a dvd on my Xbox system, and it works perfectly. Looks like those 2 dvd players are those selected few that cant play DVD+R discs.
