  1. Alright I ripped it with dvd-decryptor, and used dvd2one on it. The dvd burnt fine and it plays fine up to the menu, but when I try to play the episodes, a message saying "the disc is not formatted to play in this region". I did seasons 1 and 2 fine. On this one I just dont know what the hell. Any one copied it succesfully? dvd-decrytor always does a region free patch.

No problems here. Same method, DVD Decrypter, followed by DVD2one.

  3. I had this same prob with simpsons season 2. this is how I fixed in.

WHEN in DVD DECRYPTOR before your rip, go to the optons and ensure the correct region is selected. If your disc is region 1, select 1, if 2 then 2. DO NOT TRY AND RIP TO A DIFFERENT REGION OR THE DISC WONT WORK ONCE BURNED!

Then rip with Encryptor and size with DVD2ONE as normal.

  4. Yeah something is up, I backed up the first disc, burned it and got the same message.

I ripped from a Region 1, dvd2one'd it and burned it at 1x.

Just like above plays fine till wanting to watch an episode then the Can't play in this region message.

So something is wrong here. My process was step by step and still got the message.

Gonna run it through Instant Copy and see what we get and will report back in a few hours probably

  6. There seems to be a problem in the ripping itself and not the result of re-encoding. I have tried with dvd decryptor, smartripper and clad dvd and everytime I run Ifoedit to check and there is the region error. This one has me quite baffled as I have never experienced this before. I would really like to back these up as I collect simpsons merchandise and try to keep it in perfect condition.

  8. I have the same problem too. I did it both in instant copy and dvd2one and got the same results. I can get it to play some of the times with the one I made in dvd2one but it requires me to hit the menu button when i get the screen then hit resume and like I said it only works some of the times. It is a real pain that way. If anyone has suggetions please email me

  10. I found someone on a different forum that told me how to get it to work. First they decrypted the files but the did not remove the rc and rce in dvddecryptor. Then they used ifoedit to make the files region free. I tried it and it worked for me. I was able to get disc 1 done so far and I am going to try the rest today. Weird that it worked but it did.

Has all files been ripped to your folder? Just copy these 2 files off the DVD in Windows Explorer ...

    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VTS_02_0.IFO

and replace your ripped ones. Use IFOedit to Region Free both IFOs and save them.

So has anyone come up with the sure fire way to do these? I bought them for my son's birthday and he'll be getting them Sunday and I sure would like to back them up right away.

Thanks everyone. My son is the master at ruining DVD's and CD's. Not that I'm going to watch them too. Right.
