  1. I have a movie in avi format which runs with no problems in windows media player, but when i converted it into mpeg format with TMPGEnc for purposes of burning it as a PAL vcd the mpeg files produced contained no sound, the picture was perfect but alas no audio :/

    Any suggestions?

  2. Most of the time it means that audio is AC3. Use Virtual Dub (File->File Information...) to check if it is unknown (tag 2000) or GSpot to check if it is AC3. If it is - you need to extract audio using Virtual Dub, rename it back to AC3 and convert to WAV file using headac3he (or use GoldWave to convert straight from your AVI file). Then use the WAV file as audio source in TMPGEnc.

    Regards.

  3. Ah thanks, it turned out that it wasn't ac3, but i used virtualdub to rip the audio to a .wav file and just used that as the audio source in TMPGEnc.
