  2. have you tried to power cycle the PC (reboot)

also, try to unplug it from the PC (power and IDE) then plug back in.

or, try upgrading firmware (sometimes it fixes it)
THIS has been an RVL123 production...

  3. without system specs how can we know what to do? use Restore & bring your old system back cause sounds like you put some crappy software on that youarent supposed to like say ezcd 5.0

  4. I don't think System Restore will help that problem.

Sounds like a hardware fault, however, saying that, it could just be something daft like the IDE cable isn't pushed home properly and it's dragging the bus down.

Assuming it used to work OK, it's probably not anything silly like master / slave configurations, but I've had cables fail and "pop out" before now, and you can see all sorts of funny problems then.

If the drive does not appear to be responding then I doubt you would be able to reflash the drive - if it's not being detected, how do you propose the PC talks to it ?

If it's under warranty, send it back and get it checked if all the cables check out alright. Make sure the power connector is pushed home properly too, while you're in there poking around.
