When making a back up of a back up (I want my daughter to have a DVD for her room and for the car but not destroy the original) is the quality degraded to any noticeable degree?
Example - Would the quality be any better if I rip to the HD and then to the DVD or can I just go backup to backup with no degradation?

Digital files(DVD) are not like analog(magnetic tape) you can make a thousand copies of a digital file and it will be exactly the same as the original as long as you don't compress or encode mpeg.
Just copy DVD to DVD, but remember Fair Use is for one backup of the original. -
