  1. Hello,

I was hoping I could get some expert opinions on my video capture. This is just a little 5MB snip of an analog TV capture that I did using the MJPEG codec with a 19 setting and a 2 pass VBR SVCD encode with TMPGEnc.

    Thanks everyone

My expert opinion is that your file is definitely a video.

Well i wil agree that it is a video, but the quality isnt all that great to be made into a SVCD try a VCD and as for the video itself it isnt that great maybe try a different codec for capture or a different source (s-video maybe) cause the video itself looks like it was painted on a canvas there is like micro dots on it did you use any filters? just looks weird might be you're analog connection.

  4. Well, the reason for making a SVCD is, because the show is 44 mins without commercials. Using the 2 pass VBR method I can get the whole show on 1 CD with pretty good quality.

If I encode it to VCD the file size ends up being about 450MB or so. I wouldn't even be able to get 2 episodes per CD unless I lowered the bitrate. VCD bitrate is low enough, I don't want it to look worse. I figure if VCD is going to be 450MB and SVCD can take up the whole disk, then why not go with SVCD, it's better quality.

I didn't use any filters. My computer is slow enough as it is for encoding, any filters I put on it slow it down even more.
