My setup is a dual 450 G4, 150 GB HD, 640 MB Ram, Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge, TV cable converter box with RCA Video and R/L Audio out. I'm thinking of using either BTV, or QT Broadcaster to record, or maybe iMovie - which one is best?. My question(s): which video and audio compressors should I use. I basically want to record TV shows and then burn them on to VCDs or DVDs. From what I've read I guess I should set the size to 352 by 288 or 320 by 240. Which video compressor, I've read that Sorenson is good, should i use Sorenson 3, what about MPEG 4, or straight DV? Audio compressors; I've read that I should just choose None, is this the best option? There are so many posts and tutorials about going from source file, i.e. avi or mpeg x to to VCD or DVD, encoding with this or that. I want to know how to create the best possible source file. And what about "frames per second ", "quality" (least to Best), "key frames", and "limiting data rates" - I'm freaking clueless!
Thanks in advance for any help
Steve
My apologies if this has been detailed else where (Gawd knows I've looked)
