  1. i am converting mpeg2 file's into a vcd with ciemacraft encoder. how can i make the mpeg1 a specific file size? i want to be able to fit multiple mpeg2s on to one cdr as a vcd with thumbnail pictures. cinema craft encoder has a vcd option but it allways max's out my mpeg2 into a vcd as 650MB's. would i have to create mpeg1's. if so what settings should i i use etc..

  2. VCD has a fixed bitrate of 1150 kbs Video, 224 kbs Audio which is 74mins on a 650Mb CD, 80 mins on an 700Mb CD. This is the VCD standard and any change from this is not a VCD so the only way to control the VCD file size is by the length of time of the final video.

    Any VCD made not to the VCD standards may not play on a standalone player, but usually play OK on a PC.

  4. you can use an application called dvd2svcd to convert your files to VCD for a specific file size. TMPGENC can also do it with just that application.

  5. you could even try mpeg1 vbr (burn to a cdrw just in case it doesnt work) thats 2 pass vbr rather than 1 pass cbr.
