Ok guys, I need your help, and I'm kinda in a hurry. I need to copy some movies for a freind of mine before he leaves for college tommorrow, and I need to make copies from my copies. This is the dreaded problem from using DVD Copy Xpress. And i know this has probably already been asked, but I checked some other posts, and they really didn't answer my question. So, here's the deal, is there any program that will re-do the copy all by itself, instead of using like 3 or 4 different programs to do the same thing? I tried using SmartRipper yesterday just as a test, and there were no chapters, and the video resolution seemed kinda less. Please help me out guys! THanks

  2. Is there some special problem with these copies? If they are not encrypted you don't need Smart Ripper. You just need a burning program like Nero. It has a wizard that will guide your through the copy process.

The only reason you need a lot of special programs to copy a commercial DVD is because they can hold more data than home made DVD's and because they are encrypted. Your copies shouldn't have any of these issues.

(also, I don't think you are using Smart Ripper correctly if you get no menus and lower quality)

But I thought that everyone was saying there was some kind of copying problem using Nero, like the disc's wouldn't play or things were messed up? Maybe I did configure SmartRipper wrong, who knows, there's like 4 bajillion options on there, maybe I'll have to read the readme file next time.

  4. Dude, screw all those other programs and use DVD Decrypter to rip and burn, using ISO mode.

    Done deal.

  5. I have two DVD burners and a DVD drive so I simply use RecordNow Max to make an exact copy which works every time.

  6. You should be able to make a copy of your copy with a program like recordnow max, clonedvd or some other proggy that let's you make "an exact copy" just like copying a music cd or data cd.

    Nota Bene:

CloneDVD is NOT an exact copier. It's a transcoder.

    -------------

At any rate, just copy the disc, man. Use Nero in "disc copy" mode (which has no problems that I know of - it's the OTHER modes that have problems), or RecordNow, or DVD Decryptor (extract ISO then burn ISO).

Or just drag the files to your hard disc and burn 'em back out with whatever program you like.

Those copies have NO protection, so just burn away.

And as Presto suggested in the very first reply.

As for your SmartRipper problem I think it might be the way you view the results. If the files are on your hard drive you need a program like PowerDVD to view them with menus. Perhaps what you did was just to play the vobs. If you did that you would have no menus and if you just watched it on your computer it would look fuzzy compared to watching the DVD on TV.

Also, the idea that Nero has problems is based on older versions. The latest version of Nero does not have these issues. You don't need to decrypt anything or shrink anything or reauthor. Just copy with Nero (or some other program).

Hey guys, MUCHOS thanks for your quick replies. DVD Decryp works like a charm, and everything worked out. Thanks for the sig. compliment MackemX, I like it 2. :P
Hey, on a side note, say I made a copy using DVD X Copy, and it did the stupid thing were it split the movie onto 2 discs, can I use DVD Decryp to re-combine it into one? I have a feeling you have to dink around with removing all the added audio streams and whatnot, right? :P

You CAN recombine it, but not easily. DVD X Copy ... BUTCHERS ... discs. Everything 321 Studios makes is garbage, IMNSHO.

Just a thought, but if decrypter worked just fine and it does for me as well, why fool around with DVD-X copy to begin with...and if you already did that with DVD-X then why not delete them and do it over with decrypter?....just a thought.

Gurm is right, leave that program go, I downloaded and deleted it in one day.

Gurm pretty well sums it up. Every method listed will give you a perfect copy! Problem solved -- Just pick one and go!

Edit: Didn't see his latest post. Guess I was blinded by the sig.
