  1. I'm trying to author a DVD with 1 subtitle track. I've the original .SSA file correctly timed and covert it to .SRT. Until here everything is ok, the timing is still the same as the original.

The problem is when I convert the .SRT file to a .SON or .STL with MaestroSBT and load the file into DVDMaestro. Just a few subtitles are ok and the rest are all desynched for about a little less than a second, pretty annoying by the way... and the only "solution" that I've found to this is to correct by hand every single subtitle in the timeline without having a .wav or anything as a guide...

So I wanted to ask if anyone have a more practical solution to this thing, or if there's another authoring program more user frendly with the subtitles and doesen't make this kind of problems.

    Use DROP-FRAME timing.
    ICBM target coordinates:
    26° 14' 10.16"N -- 80° 16' 0.91"W

  3. With drop-frame it's a bit better, but still far away from the original timing precision. Almost every line has a little bit of delay. The fps I setted in the conversion is 29.97fps, the same the video has... any other ideas?

Your video has to have DROP-FRAME timing in it also. Use PULLDOWN to set the flag.

If you have 29.97 fps /NTSC / subtiltes when importing them into MaestroSBT you should ALWAYS set 29.97 for fps IN but 30.00 for fps OUT. Don't touch anything else and see how it works.

    Enjoy!
