I have read the rip help files & I have tried using DVDXcopy express, instant copy, and dvdshrink, and dvd decryptor like the instructions say. The problem is that there are too many variables when burning a DVD to DVD or just any DVD in general.
Gotta make sure you got the right DVD writer, and the right discs to write on. Then try the different writing programs to see which one will work best, then try it in your stand alone player to see if that is compatible. If not, it might be the media type, or maybe the media brand, or maybe both!
Help, this is overwhelming...
Here is what I have:
NEC 1300a v1.5
Player: Apex AD-600a
DVDXcopy express
Legacy DVD-r
TDK DVD-rw
Fuji DVD+r
This seems more like a guessing game than a science. Burning CD's wasnt this complicated!![]()

Step1: Take a deep breath
Step2: Ask a specific question
For Example:
Q: I've backed up my copy of Bad News Bears with DVDXCopy and my Apex does not even recognize the disc.
Oh, by the way. If you haven't tried anything yet, and you're just lookin for a sure fire method, I could tell you mine. However, it works on my hardware and software and dvdr brand.
Have fun, find one that works for you. -

I have been making dvds for the about 2 months now but it took me months of reading and lots of posts here to understand what i was doing.
I found that using dvd decryptor and the main concept or dvd shrink was the best option. (Main concept if the dvd is dvd5 - under 4.7gb, or dvd shrink if you need to compress the file to fit).
Also I have a nec 1300 and the media is a big problem with this recorder. You cant use anything made by Princo - this is the main cheap medias like datawrite red etc.
I have made a quality find though - on ebay they are selling a dvd*2 speed in 100packs for £55.00gbp. they make is burn star and i have had no problems with it.
Good luck!
