thanks to schlaufer over at Doom9
German HERE
translated English HERE (but doesn't translate too well)
I've been playing with it for a few weeks now and it's been impressive, although there's a couple of little things I would like adding that haven't, but I can't complain as they may be added in updates anyway
I wonder how many will start using IC now it's go the speed option along with the title removal? (even though speed is not an issue with me)
I wonder when the demo is going to be available, if I see anything I'll let you guys know

There's already an illegal copy of it floating about the NET, so it's kinda old news now.

So do the people that paid for version 7 get to update to this version or is Pinnacle going to stiff them?

Because I paid $40 for IC7, the first time I used it I got a 2.6GB backup, the 2nd time (after having removed the update) 4.8GB (couldn't burn obviously).
I'll stick with DVD Shrink if only because dvshrink cares about its users. -
A4, have you tried DVD Shrink v3.0 beta 5?
Previous to it I didn't use neither Le Shrink nor DVD2One for 7GB+ movies.
DVD2DVD-R/CCE was my tool of choice. -
I put that 10GB+ on a DVDRW I posted a couple of days ago.

DVDShrink 3 + Deep Analysis.
The quality is like a SVCD, still OK.
Usually I dont do this, I was just curiousYou stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off. -
Just out of curiosity tompika, have you tried the same DVD with IC7 or 8?

IC8 has gotten my stamp of approval. It's still TOO DARN SLOW, considering that I told it not to compress the video AT ALL and it STILL took a half an hour to rebuild the IFOs.
But it did what I wanted. I've been futzing with this image file of Cowboy Bebop The Movie for a couple weeks, trying to get the movie, the (kinda big - around 500MB) menus, and NOTHING ELSE onto one disc. CloneDVD was working, but it was compressing the menus and I couldn't control it.
IC8 did what I wanted. Much as I hate to encourage Pinnacle in their creation of bloated icky software, they seem to have gotten SOMETHING right this time around.

What's the version number of yours Gurm? -

Has the sizing issue with wide screen movies been fixed in this version?
-
I have tried one movie with IC 8.0 and so far it's fine. I have a Sony 715 player (the newer one) and it hates IC 7.* versions and either has glitches playing on the disc or sound pops. I have not noticed this problem with IC 8.0 so far but I will do more tests later.
My Apex 1200 plays IC 7.* versions fine with no problems at all (except for occasional sound popping).
So far I have to say that IC 8.0 is what IC 7.0 should have been... I have always liked the quality of IC but DVDShrink has been great without any problems at all.
I will keep posting if I find any problems with IC 8.0 but it will take a lot of tests to rebuild my confidence in this product. -
Ok, tried making a backup of "Avenging Angelo" with IC 8.0...
Everything went well until the end, IC 8.0 made the file size too big for the blank disc. I had requested the file size to be at 4.30gb
Once again, IC has disappointed me, I had thought this bug would have been fixed by now so 2 hours of reencoding were wasted.
Back to DVDShrink 3.0! -
This is a very rough, automated translation from the German press release announcing the availability of IC8:
For owners of the previous versions it will give a Upgradeprogramm.:Für Besitzer der Vorgängerversionen wird es ein Upgradeprogramm geben.
