It looks good on paper. I hope they offer that first month $99 upgrade as they did with v7.

Looks like this will be quite a comprehensive package. The multicamera workflow is an interesting addition. I am looking forward to testing out this version.
The more you know, the more there is to know... -
Disappointed, to say the least. Apart from the few small additions like the very mediocre "Pro titler", blue ray support and multi camera, everything else is still the same.
Put the demo through its paces for about 5 hours and immediately went back to 7e.
IMO if you're not using multi camera, the upgrade is really not worth it.
This should have been released as 7.0f maybe... -
I skipped 7 but will buy this one. $250 for the upgrade is a bit of a rip.

I really don't see to many things the pop out as wow! but it looks like a upgrade of version7. Should be rename Version 7F instead of version 8.

This was my take on Vegas 8 in another thread
"Since Sony took over Vegas, their main strategic focus has been to broaden the product to fit the full Sony line of camcorder and tape formats. First was SD/HD uncompressed SDI in/out and then native HDV editing. Now they're adding XDCAM and AVCHD. Finally they are adding functionality for the DV format guy including multi-camera, more titling, more 24p and multi- track audio. Also support for flash import and export to Blu-Ray DVD and Digital Signage. Oh and the PSP Playstation portable (but not the iPod? heh). "
Turns out it does output in iPod format as well. I didn't see enough for me in version 7 so I skipped that one. I'm doing more HD now and will need an HD or Blu Ray DVD writer so Version 8 is what I need. -
That's certainly reasonable for upgrading...

You can get the full product (i.e., if you don't have Vegas) for $279.90 if you do it right!John Miller -
Good to see the upgrade has been cut to $150 boxed, $135 download.
