  1. Okay so I have spent that last three days reading through this forum and on Doom9 looking for a complete step by step guide on converting Divx with AC3 sound to DVD and preserving the AC3 and nowhere have I found a step by step working guide. I've seen general suggestions and several people with the same problem but I think a step by step detailed guide on the process is in order. Who will step up to the challenge and liberate all us out there that have these great Divx Dolby Digital AVI files with itches up our butts to transfer them to DVD while preserving their 5.1 AC3 goodness?

  2. got a weird feeling of deja vu as I think I just answered a very similar question in another post. Someone was wanting a guide or something????

My answer to the other poster was to try to use dvd2svcd as it shouldnt try to convert the AC3 to mp2 or anything.

  3. 1. DEmux avi to seperate video and audio files

    2. Encode video only to m2v

    3. Mux/author DVD with encoded m2v + source ac3

Kafluke.....the best way to get the AC3 sound is by using goldwave. There is a step by step guide for this and also shows u how to increase the volume.

    Look here >> https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/160649.php

Once you've got your ac3 audio file from goldwave, u enter this as seperate audio into ur authoring program, for example TMPGEnc author.

SO 1st....encode your avi 2 dvd using tmpgenc, with a normal seperate wav file (2 channel will be ok, as when u author the movie later, u will add the ac3 created by goldwave).

Once this is done, then use tmpgenc author prog, and load ur ac3 seperately.

    BINGO!

  7. Okay so I'm a little confused, I used Goldwave to increase the volume and everything but how do I save it with AC3 intact? It only lets me save it as wav or mp3... that guide says nothing about saving the file with AC3? The save as wav option says it will be saved in stereo, I don't want stereo, I want 5.1 DD??? Is there anybody out there that knows how to do this???
