    I constantly hear about frameserving in discussions here. Exactly what is it, how do you do it and what benefits are there from doing it?

    DVD2svcd: Since I can not open .vob files in any encoder directly, I would have to create a temporary avi file. I can avoid this by using a frameserver.
    DVD2svcd and avi2svcd: VirtualDub and Avisynth are not only frameserver, but you use it to add several filters like resize, deinterlacer or smoother to improve the video quality.
