    Hi

    Ive got a Lite-on 16x DVD-rom and a A05 writer and both are locked on 2x speed when it does the reading part of copying the DVD. Anyone know why this is happening.

    Yes, because both drives are locked at 2X for ripping.
    Do a google search on a paticular dvd drive before you buy to check whether it's locked or not.

    This can be fixed. I had the same problem. You need to switch the drive to PIO I think...

    Hi

    Thanks for the help. After trying a few other things I think the problem is when I start the reading the computer is using to much resouces and keeps it at 2x. Cause I tryed the nero speed test and at 2x its 15% resouces then it wont go past 2x cause 4x n 8x is 100%. Ill try your ideas to see what happens.
