  1. Hi

I am very new to the dvd authoring game, i wonder if someone can help me out ?.....hope so.

I have an mpeg/avi (not sure which, and not sure how to tell either) that i wish to burn to DVD-R, so that i can watch it downstairs on my main DVD player thru my TV

I have followed a tutorial on this site, but its not working correctly, or at least i dont think so. The tutorial suggested to us TMPGEnc etc.....Now i am left with a .m2v and .wav file ??? What do i do with these ?

All I want to do is burn an mpeg/avi onto DVD-R in MPEG II format..........

Can someone please provide some instructions that an idiot can follow

    Thannks in advance

you need to take your m2v (video stream) and your wav (audio stream) and import them into an authoring program like DVD Lab, ReelDVD or TMPG DVD Author (check the Tools section under DVD Author).

once you have imported them and made your menu, you can compile the dvd and burn the compiled files with your burner of choice.

you can not burn an mpeg directly to a disc and watch it on a player unless your player will play raw mpeg files. most will not. you need to go through the authoring process with authoring software.
