ive downloaded a dual track movie. If i use BSPlayer to view it can select english but i wondered if it was possible to just get the english version and then re-encode back.

Hi Chase,
I ran into this problem myself and expected to find an easy solution on DVDRhelp as usual. This was not the case, but by piecing together different posts and websites, I found a solution. You need a tool available on DVDRhelp called AVI-mux.
After installing right click in blank window and select add.
Find your file.
Click once on your file so it is highlighted and then hit the add video source button.
This should reveal two audio sources. Both listed as source 1.
If the original plays automatically in the language you don’t want, select the second source and un-check the all audio streams box. This usually shows begin 0 at the end of the text.
Hit the start button and it will ask for a new file name. Enter it and your good to go!
Good Luck,
