  2. This guide https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/91588.php here should help you to extract the Ac3. The encode the video and either multiplex the Ac3 file with the .m2v or let the authoring program handle that bit.

  4. It depends what authoring apps you have access to.

DVD-lab will accept the ac3 file as the audio, with the mpeg-2 as video. So will Spruce. Ulead DVD WS requires the two streams to be multiplexed. TmpGenc will do this.

    Here's the process in short:
    1/ Extract AC3 audio file /with Virtualdub/
2/ Fix the AC3 file /it's usually messed up/ with AC3fix as follows:
Start>Run>cmd. You're in DOS window now /Before this put AC3fix in the same directory where your AC3 file is/.
Go to the directory where your AC3 file is. Type:

    ac3fix extractedaudiofilename.ac3 fixedaudiofilename.ac3

You can now use the fixed AC3 file for authoring/muxing.
3/ Author/Mux audio and video with an appropriate program.

    That's it!

    Enjoy!
