  1. (sorry, my mind has become a sieve this week reading all this stuff, & somewhere I lost the grasp of this question)
< this is on a panasonic dmr-e80,,if that matters)

I did some recording to the HDD (home movie tapes) in "XP" mode,, thinking I was just going to divide & dub 1 hour segments to disk.
but a few came under 2 hours, & am thinking of dubbing the whole 2 hour program on ONE disk.

now, do I still use 'high speed' recording mode???
since it is now a longer program, & XP is only for 1 hour.. what happens? can I do this? will it automatically change to "SP"(thats 2 hours, right?)
or did I mess this all up??

(what does this do to the final dvd-r?? re-encode & have some loss)?

  2. I dont think you can fit it on if you select High Speed! I would select FR speed then It will fit it on the disc with the Best possible rec qualty.

No. You can't use "high speed" in this case. Use FR mode and yes.... it will re-encode.
