(sorry, my mind has become a sieve this week reading all this stuff, & somewhere I lost the grasp of this question)
< this is on a panasonic dmr-e80,,if that matters)
I did some recording to the HDD (home movie tapes) in "XP" mode,, thinking I was just going to divide & dub 1 hour segments to disk.
but a few came under 2 hours, & am thinking of dubbing the whole 2 hour program on ONE disk.
now, do I still use 'high speed' recording mode???
since it is now a longer program, & XP is only for 1 hour.. what happens? can I do this? will it automatically change to "SP"(thats 2 hours, right?)
or did I mess this all up??
(what does this do to the final dvd-r?? re-encode & have some loss)?

I dont think you can fit it on if you select High Speed! I would select FR speed then It will fit it on the disc with the Best possible rec qualty.
