  1. Hello,

I am new to DVD recording, so looking for some help.
I am sorry if this has been posted some where.

Anyways, my friend got Pioneer A05 couple of weeks ago. We used Princo 1x 4.7 GB DVD-R disk with Logo and Text on media to make video DVD. And that disc can be played (100%)in his Audiologic standalone dvd player. It even works on DVD-ROM on computer. But when i play it on my Philips 724AT, it works for around 75% or so of disc, and then rest of disc just freezes...So i would like to know if it's my standalone Philips 724AT problem or media problem, becuase i saw some posts claming having problem with this Princo DVD-R media. Please let me know what's the problem. And please suggest which media works on Philips 724AT (this is very imporant ).

And another question, i am planning to buy a dvd writer in coming weeks. I saw some post recommanding Pioneer 106 or NEC ND-1300. My price range is under 200$...and looking for media that is compatible with any of those writers and with my standalone Philips 724AT.

    Thanks alot,
    Regards,

  2. It's my turn to bite.

First your player should play all formats as seen here https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=Philips+724AT&Search=Search&Submit2=Search

As to why it don't play on your player my guess it's the Princo media but I have never had any problems with Princo. Good media to start with is TDK or Ritek IMO.

For a DVD burner the best bang for the buck AIMO is the NEC ND-1300a which sells for $135 here http://avlogic.com/product.cgi?code=18030059
