Use DVDX it's quick and simple, depending on your CPU's power.

    Hey there . . .

This is my usual method for DVD ripping

    1) rip dvd to hard drive using latest version of DVD-Decrypter (remembering to demux the require audio track to a seperate AC3 file). For a typical 80 minute movie, takes 13-16 minutes

    2) convert AC3 track to WAV file with Headac3 - time is typically 4-7 minutes

    3) use DVD2AVI to generate a D2V file for frameserving - time (with DVD2AVI set to 'no audio') about 5.5 minutes

    4) write a one line AviSynth script that points to the D2V file and performs a bilinear resize to 352 x 288 (PAL VCD format)

    5) user CCE to load the script from (4) - set the audio track to use the WAV file generated in step (2), and select the VCD template in CCE (also select the "ultra low bitrate" quantizer template). Encoding speed is normally 1.5 - 1.8 times 'realtime' - in other words, that typical 80 minute movie will encode to PAL VCD format in around 54-56 minutes, depending on what else the 'puter is doing.

SO - for that 80 minute movie, time taken from start to finish can be as quick as (13 + 4 + 5.5 + 54) = 76.5 minutes (approx) - not too shabby!

    Cheers,

    B.
