Creating Music Video files

I’ after some clues on the best/easiest way to convert each individual track of music DVDs to an individual avi (Divx) or mpeg files, to then be used in Real player or one of the other multimedia jukebox programs. I want to have my entertainment PC, permanently connected to my TV & stereo and randomly play music video files.


Maintaining sound quality is of course also a priority.

Please forgive me if the answer is bloody obvious and in one of the many conversion guides but if it is, I’m missing it.

I think the easiest way to do this would be to use Dr. DivX. If you don't have it you can get a free trial from divx.com

You would just rip the DVD to your HD. open the DVD files in Dr. DivX. Then choose the source range (each video) then choose the HQ setting then make sure you check the batch mode check box on the page where the encode button is, then repeat the above steps for each video track. Then when you ahve them all ready start the batch encode and you will end up with a separate file for each music video. You may have to go into the advanced setting to up the audio bit rate, I think by default it uses 128K variable bit mp3

You may be better off to use gordian knot. It's not as easy to use as Dr. Divx, but I have found Dr. Divx limits your audio to a max of 160kbps mp3
