To be able to target your problem, you have to be more specific:
What are you creating? (VCD/SVCD/DVD/other)
What is your source?
Are you 100% sure the source has no errors?
What steps did you take in the process from source to target?

hi, well i am trying to create a vcd the source is avi which i used virtual dub on and saved the wave file then i put the source ( the avi ) and the wave on TMPGEnc then cut the film in 2. done the first half on tmpgenc then the second then burned them both to disc, played the first which was out of since then played the second which was fine, the only thing i did different between the 2 was the first i moved the start of the avi by about 30 seconds. I have checked the source file and it is fine.
I hope this helps
thanks
