  1. I am trying to make backups of Rambo I/II/III with dvdshrink 2.3 but it closes the application itself after I load up the stripped video files. DVDShrink works fine for all other backups I've made but when I load up any of the Rambos it closes. These are the new Rambo trilogy dvds...

  2. There's a new Beta version of DVDShrink out - you could try that

Or - I had that problem with 1 DVD. I had to rip it with another ripping program then open the files with DVDShrink.

  4. You're welcome
Let me know how it goes. I'm curious as to why this happened and even more so now that it's happened to someone else.

  5. @DVDEmperor,

are u using DVDshrink to rip the DVD as well???

if you are, try using another proggie (i.e. DVDdecryptor w/ multi-angle processing disabled) to rip the files to the hdd first....and then let DVDshrink process them..

what you mean by "stripped" files???...do you alter the files in any way before you load into DVDshrink???? DVDshrink only accepts those files AS IS, without any modification other than CSS, RCE, and Macrovision removed...

  6. I insert 'stripped' files all the time into DVDShrink...
you just gotta make sure when you strip it, you leave one ID (usually you can use the 0.15 sec blank screen) and it works fine.

Whats the advantages/dis-advantages of DVDdecryptor? Or why not DVDShrink?

    Thanks in advance.

well...there used to be some advantages with smartripper/DVDdecryptor...but now that DVDshrink 3.0 (beta) has come out with new ripping features... i guess the gap has been closed.

however, i personally would prefer to rip all the files to my hdd first using DVDdecryptor and then feed them into DVDshrink to process.

if you were to let DVDshrink rip the DVD, it would rip on-the-fly, meaning it would rip small portions at the same time while transcoding....as opposed to ripping all the files to the hdd first and then processing it.
