Oh well..... dvd2dvd beta works great and even does the scenarist muxing for you so I think I'm converting over and yes subtitles work. For PAL dvds dvd2dvd-r is great and wonderful.

  2. What is dvd2dvd beta?

  3. @bass, why are you making yourself crazy with Scenarist. Just use Maestro along with DVD2DVDR...it doesn't take that long and the results are excellent.

If and when Chatwalker gets the scenarist script to be in unison with DVD2DVDR, then that's just the icing on the cake. Even if that doesn't ever happen, i'd NEVER use any program with the word "BETA" in it over a phenomenal program like DVD2DVDR. Your jumping ship way too quickly. Of course, that's your decison.

  4. nah ...trust me you'll love dvd2dvd (otherwise known as DVD2SVCD). It ain't a public beta but I'm sure will be released soon. One of the biggest differences is with dvd2dvd-r the scenarist is another 20 -25 mins of waiting. With dvd2dvd it's click go and everything is done.. rip, cce, scenarist muxing and once I figure out the Finalize tab it'll burn to with a batch file using ImgTool. It'll truly be an all in one process. Rip, demux, encode, mux, and burn.

I'd imagine most people using NTSC will jump ship and people with PAL will probably just stay with dvd2dvd-r if they're happy with that. DVD2DVD still has decrypting capabilities.

  5. @mrbass...ohhh...you didn't say the proggy was being created by the author of DVD2SVCD....that says a lot as they really know their stuff.

Just so I understand though...this new proggy will be actually "called" dvd2dvd? Or is it just going to be within the DVD2SVCD GUI ADVANCED OPTIONS SETTINGS as it is now? OR is the name of DVD2SVCD going to be changed to DVD2DVD while still allowing for SVCD BACKUP? It sounds like your saying the author is going to have an entirely different program solely for DVD's, but you really have me curious now.

This does sound VERY INTERESTING to say the least...especially because it incorporates both CCE and Scenarist. Wow...good news.

EDIT: WHOA...wait a second...I just checked the doom9 link you posted. So that guy Clixio and the author of DVD2SVCD are both working on this?

I also noticed you mentioned tweaking some functions with this proggy to get ImgTool to burn at the end of the process....so you are working on this project too?

Man, that post also said that Derrow has fixed the NTSC/.M2V bug for NTSC releases in a newer version of IfoEdit. Or at least "rumor" has it that he has. That's even BETTER NEWS! This should be interesting as hell.

  6. all I think I'm allowed to say is this: yes it's going to be called DVD2SVCD AND dvd2dvd. How can that be? Well that's the part I can't tell you. Anyway don't worry. Yes dvd2svcd mentioned he'll add IfoEdit as soon as/if Derrow releases a new version of IFOEDIT. Yes I'm one of the beta testers.

Fair enough..I don't wanna pry too much....but thanks for the advance heads up. How this proggy is gonna be called "both" is pretty interesting. I can't wait for the official public release. :P
