  1. i have a music video in mpeg1 NTSC with
    Picture Size: 320 x 240
    Bit rate: 3000000 bits/sec
    Frame rate: 29.97 frames/sec

how do i convert it to a proper vcd 2.0 standard type like 352x240 ntsc/film or 352x288 pal

without/minimum quality loss so I can watch it on my tv.

    what software do i need?

you are going to lose quality because you are going to reencode it. TMPGEnc can convert that file for you.

  3. try burning it as non-standard, compliant xVCD....

since your music video has bitrate of 3 mbit/s, you will loose A LOT of quality if you convert to standard VCD, because VCD 2.0 requires 1150 kbit/s.

    3000 kbit/s >>>> 1150 kbit/s

however, you need to make sure your dvd player can support xVCDs and also the max bitrate of xVCDs it can support. check here:

    thanks

btw i just tried re-encoded to 352x240 from 320x240 n the output looks funny coz of different size.. is there anyway that i can maintain the pic size without stretching

i assume that it would be grouped under xVCD, so if a player supports xVCDs, it should be able to handle that resolution???
